Discover the principles and practice of Buddhist meditation-a timeless method for cultivating inner peace and positive transformation. This course offers both an introduction to the essential teachings of Buddhism and a direct, experiential approach to meditation. Students will explore the how meditation can transform mental habits and gain practical guidance on how to begin and sustain meditation practice. Students will deepen their understanding of how meditation fosters happiness, reduces suffering and enhances overall well-being.

Optional: This course uses the book, How to Transform Your Life, written by the internationally-renowned Mahayana Buddhist Master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This book is available as a free e-book downloadable at Tharpa Free eBooks

Cecilia Watson

Cecilia has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for over twenty years. Her love of Buddha's teachings inspires her to share these teachings with everyone. She wishes everyone to benefit from Buddha's teachings and transform their lives into peaceful, joyful states. She teaches meditation classes in the greater Eastside and the Bellevue College Continuing Education Program.
