Each of our weekly drop-in classes is self-contained and explores the simple and powerful meditation methods taught by Buddha to transform our world by transforming our mind. By learning how to find peace from our own distracted and disturbed states of mind through meditation, we find a happy and meaningful life and make a significant contribution to peace and harmony in our world.

In this course we learn how to de-escalate harm in our life and our world, through Buddhist methods on non-retaliation. When we are harmed, or someone we care about is harmed, our instinct is to retaliate, but this only creates more problems and suffering. In this course, learn powerful methods to respond compassionately and wisely to harm.

The Children’s class includes singing a prayer, interactive teaching on keeping a peaceful mind and a loving heart, short meditation, and coloring or other activities.
Children will be on the main floor, while adults have the option to be with their children or participate in the adult meditation class upstairs.
Suggested for ages 5 to 12.
Older (or quiet) children are welcome in the adult class.
Dharma for Kids is offered freely and supported by donations.

Kadam Trina Gunther is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Washington. She has been a dedicated practitioner of modern Kadampa Buddhism since 2004.
Kadam Trina is an inspiring example of a lay practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism, and brings with her a wealth of experience of integrating Buddha's teachings with busy daily life. She offers a practical perspective to spiritual practice to help anyone apply Buddha's profound insights and meditations to their busy working and family lives with clarity and joy.
